2011 Album of the Year - Still Walking, Graeme Connors, Produced by Matt Fell
The Country Music Association of Australia advises that a major error occured during the ceremony of the 39th Jayco Country Music Awards of Australia, presented last night in Tamworth.
It is with regret that a major error took place in the presentation of the final award, Album of the Year. The hosts of the evening Ray Hadley and Beccy Cole were supplied with the incorrect envelope containing the prevously announced winner of Sanity Top Selling Album of the Year, being Lee Kernaghan for his Album Planet Country.
The recipients of the 2011 Album of the Year Golden Guitar Trophy, are Graeme Connors and Producer Matt Fell for the Album Still Walking.
The Country Music Association of Australia has been working non stop since the incident occurred to investigate how this error took place and will be undertaking a full review into this process.
The Association recognises the magnitude of the error and expresses and extends its most sincere apologies to Graeme Connors, Matt Fell, Lee Kernaghan and Garth Porter. The Association also extends its apologies to the hosts of the evening Ray Hadley and Beccy Cole, the country music industry and fans for the error.
