Fresh from opening for US country star Joe Nichols a couple of weeks ago, Peter McWhirter releases ‘Devil’s Daughter’.

It’s the INSANE fourth single from ABC Music’s highly talented and creative new artist Peter McWhirter. McWhirter’s debut album, Lucky As A Seven was released late last year and he earned a Golden Guitar nomination for his efforts.

‘Devil’s Daughter’ is off the charts! It’s the classic oh so tempting but oh so deceptive tale …with elements of raw Country, bluegrass and blues all piled together to create a song that is both crazy and fantastic at the same time.

On the heels of his performance at the inaugural CMC Rocks the Hunter festival, US country hitmaker Joe Nichols will return to Australia in April/May for his The Shape I’m In Australian Tour.

The tour will mark Nichols’ third visit to Oz shores – his first trip was for the Size Matters tour and CMC Rocks the Snowys festival in 2009.

“I was so blown away by the Aussie crowds and the way they responded at our shows in 2009, I couldn’t wait to come back”, says Joe. “This time I won’t have to wait as long to play for you guys and gals again. See y’all in April!”

Joining the platinum-selling US star on the tour will be special guests, Jasmine Rae and Peter McWhirter.

The Shape I’m In Australian Tour will kick off at the Empire Theatre in Toowoomba on April 29 and visit Caboolture, Rockhampton, Sydney and Albury before wrapping up in Adelaide on May 8.

New ABC Music recording artist Peter McWhirter’s debut album Lucky As A Seven is released this week across Australia.

The album release has co-incided with the discovery that legendary duo The Judds have covered his latest single ‘I Will Stand By You’.

The Judds, who are about to embark of their “Last Encore Tour” in the US are one of US Country’s all time greats with fourteen #1 Billboard singles under their belt, four Platinum and four Gold albums to their credit.

‘I Will Stand By You’ is climbing the radio and music video charts right now, with the track now in the CMC Top 30 Countdown at #8 this week.

Peter McWhirter was barely out of his teens when he penned the opening track of this debut album Lucky As A Seven, and debut single ‘Humm’, which raced straight to the top of the country music video charts.  The album is released on September 10.

Now with a string of tunes ready for release, the 20-year-old has his sights set on the world with Lucky As A Seven, and is set to take on the music scene with his own unique signature of mainstream country.

Lucky As A Seven is an eclectic mix of songs, steeped in country and blues and infused with threads of indie pop. From the uplifting current single ‘I Will Stand By You’, about never giving up, to the more bluesy ‘Ain't as Easy As It Looks’, McWhirter has firmly established his own style.

"It's mixing a whole lot of different ideas in the music spectrum from rock, folk, country, blues and bringing it all together into one," McWhirter says.

 The musical blend – recorded and produced in Nashville with Grammy nominated Australian producer Mark Moffatt (Keith Urban, Tim Finn, Nick Cave, Jasmine Rae) – comes out of McWhirter's upbringing on the outskirts of Sydney in Campbelltown where he discovered his musical abilities at age ten, when he clutched his first guitar.

McWhirter is appearing at CMC Rocks North Queensland on September 25 and is touring with Canadian superstar Corb Lund throughout September/October in support of Lucky As A Seven’s release.

Following a triumphant debut voyage to Australia earlier this year, multiple-CCMA and Juno Award winners, Doc Walker, are returning here again in  January 2011, for three shows only! The first show is a one-off event at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, followed by a concert in Brisbane and another in Sydney.

Doc Walker’s 2010 Australian Tour kicked off at CMC Rocks the Snowys Festival in Thredbo, followed by dates around NSW and QLD with Texan country-rocker, Jack Ingram, and our own Steve Forde. With their soaring harmonies, tight band interplay and easy-rockin’ country sound, the Canadian trio won over crowds around the country, making many new fans who are clamouring for them to return.

Their new album, Go, debuted at #12 on the ARIA Country Chart earlier this year and their current single, 'I’m Gonna Make You Love Me', just topped the Canadian video charts and features footage from their first Australian trip.

It was just announced that Doc Walker received nine nominations for the 2010 CCMA Awards, including Album, Single and Group of the Year.

The Doc Walker 2011 Australian Tour will kick off at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, after which you can catch them at Brisbane’s Pioneer Village Country Music Club and Sydney’s Rooty Hill RSL Club.

New ABC Music artist Peter McWhirter has released his second single 'I Will Stand By You'. The clip was premiered on CMC on the weekend and is the channel's "Country Pick" this week.

'I Will Stand By You' is the follow-up to McWhirter's debut #1 single 'Humm'.

The music video for 'I Will Stand By You' was directed by Stuart Bowen (Gabriella Cilmi - On A Mission) and directed by Jodi Matherson.

Peter McWhirter's debut album, titled Lucky As A Seven, will be released on September 10 and he's appearing at CMC Rocks North Queensland on a bill which includes Tim McGraw, Corb Lund, Steve Forde and 2009 ARIA nominee Jasmine Rae. US country hitmaker Phil Vassar and renowned American singer-songwriter Nanci Griffith, along with local favourites Steve Forde and Tania Kernaghan, complete the massive lineup for the 2010 CMC Rocks The Snowys Festival to be held on March 5 and 6 at Friday Flatts in Tredbo.

Renowned for the raucous energy of his live shows, Phil Vassar has been writing hits for himself and others for over a decade. Country music’s "Piano Man" has scored big with songs like 'Bye-Bye' and 'I’m Alright' (both massive hits for Jo Dee Messina) and 'Just Another Day In Paradise'. The rowdy spirit of his life-affirming anthems translates to his concert performances, and he’ll be making his first trip down under for a one-off performance.

Steve Forde is a Snowys crowd favourite, a mainstay of the festival, and one of Australia’s best loved live performers. The singer-songwriter has penned enduring songs including 'Love at the Five and Dime' and 'Outbound Plane' in a career spanning over 30 years. Never afraid to tackle difficult topics head on in her songs, her performance is always full of passion and deep honesty.

Tania Kernaghan is part of one of Australian country’s most famous families. Daughter of Ray and brother of Lee, Tania grew up with a passion for country music and a love of live performance that has taken to the top of the country scene. From the release of her first (platinum-selling) album December Moon in 1996, Kernaghan has remained one of country music’s premiere female artists.
