2011 Country Music Awards Of Australia Finalists Announced

The Finalists for the 2011 Country Music Awards of Australia (the "Golden Guitars") were announced in Sydney this morning.

Leading the tally at the event was Kasey Chambers scooping the pool with a total of seven nods for her Little Bird album includding Album of the Year and Female Artist of the Year.

Closely following was Australia's king of country Lee Kernaghan, with his Planet Country album earning him six finalist places including Album, Song, Single, Video of the Year.

Having recently picked up their first ARIA Award, The McClymonts  secured four finalist announcements for their Wrapped Up Good album.

And new artists McAlister Kemp and Luke Austen scored four nominations as well.

Other multiple finalists include Dianna Corcoran, Graeme Connors, Sara Storer and Adam Brand.

Australia's Luke Austen & Company Kick Off CMA Week In Nashville

Eight music artists from around the world gathered in downtown Nashville Monday night, June 7, to help kick off CMA Music Fest week at the CMA Global Artist Party.

Monday night’s showcase, held at The Stage on Broadway, featured 2010 Starmaker winner Luke Austen (Australia & pictured) who will release his debut album in Australia later this year, Jaydee Bixby (Canada), David Bradley (UK), Pop singer/songwriter  Sinead Burgess (Australia), Cameron Clayton (New Zealand), Tim McKay (UK), female country duo One More Girl (Canada) and Alex J. Robinson (Canada).  The evening’s events were hosted by Adam Gregory, who also played a set for the packed house.

Australian Artists who have previously performed at this event include Troy Cassar Daley, Jasmine Rae, Shea Fisher, Aleyce Simmonds, Travis Collins and Mike Carr.
